Monica Mueller is Teaching Assistant Professor of Philosophy. Her main philosophical areas of interest are Ethics, Social and Political Philosophy. She teaches courses in Ethics, Feminist theory, Race theory, and Queer theory, among others. Monica has been an active faculty member in Portland State's Higher Education in Prison program and is a Co-Pi on an NEH grant that expands curricular offering in Coffee Creek Correctional Facility Monica is the author of "Contrary to Thoughtlessness: Rethinking Practical Wisdom", Lexington Books, December, 2012. She has recently been writing on the effect of discourses of power on conscience and is concerned with praxis as an activity of self-actualization. Monica enjoys hiking, backpacking, and adventures into wild spaces whenever possible. She also loves to cook; enjoys the company of friends and loved ones and has an amazing relationship with her canine friend Lita.
