David Weber received his Master's Degree in Philosophy from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill in 1999. He received his B.A. from Oregon State University in 1980, where he majored in Philosophy.

His Master's Thesis in the Philosophy of Language was titled "A Diachronic Reading of the Gricean Project." His later work in graduate school was in Ancient Philosophy, with an emphasis on Plato. 

His main teaching responsibilities for the Department are in formal logic and introductory classes. He also regularly teaches a section of the Sophomore Inquiry course "Knowledge, Values, and Rationality" in the University Studies program. 

He enjoys talking with students during office hours and is glad to be back on campus for in-person classes. He has worked as a salaryman for Sony Enterprise in Tokyo, a fishing guide on the Kenai River in Alaska, and a construction worker in Portland, Oregon. He enjoys fishing the great rivers of Montana when he has the opportunity.
