Perelandra Scholars Program Registration

How to Register for Perelandra Scholars Program Courses

Registration is now open for the 2023-2024 academic year. You can register for the Fall 2023 course (Fantasy Literature and the Religious Imagination). Registration for Winter and Spring courses will be open later in the academic year.

The steps below will orient you to the process and help you now that registration is open.

 

Registration is a 4-step process: VERIFICATION→REQUEST COURSE→ APPROVAL→PAYMENT.

STEP ONE: EMAIL VERIFICATION

Go to the High School Program Course Registration page.

If you are new to PSU, click on “New Students” and enter the email address you will use to receive updates concerning the application. Try to use an email account that you check frequently. 

You will receive a verification email with the subject heading “High School Program: Verification Email.” Click “verify email address.” This will open the High School Program Application page. This page times out after a few minutes, but you can reopen it with the link in the verification email.

(If you already have a PSU account, you can click on “Existing Students” and log in and register using your Odin username and password. You will go through the request and approval process below, but will not have to wait for an Odin account or activate it since you already have one.)

STEP TWO: REQUEST COURSE (2 parts)

  1. Fill out the High School Program Application page. Under “Program” select “Perelandra Scholars Program.” Enter the required personal information. Under “Biographical Information,” only the first item (“Legal Sex Designation”) is required. PSU uses the other dropdown menu items (gender identity, sexual orientation) for data collection and you do not need to fill them out. When finished, click “Submit Application.” 
  2. Completing the Application lets you continue to the High School Program Registration page.

Fill out as follows:

  • Program: This will already be indicated
  • High School: This is currently populated with a limited list of high schools. 
    NOTE: If your high school is not on the list, skip this question.
  • Grade Level: Please fill in your grade level
  • Do you qualify for financial assistance: If you are requesting tuition reduction, please answer "yes" (and contact Prof. Michael Weingrad separately: perelandra@pdx.edu).
  • Is your GPA 3.0 or higher: Please fill in your GPA.

3. Click on the Fall 2023 Term course. 

When you click the Submit button, you will see a jumping Viking with the message that “Your registration has been submitted.” Check your email for a registration submission confirmation email.

STEP THREE: PROGRAM APPROVAL

Within a few days, your request will be reviewed and approved, or we will contact you if additional information is needed. 

When your request is approved you will receive an email telling you that your PSU account is ready to be activated. The email will include your Odin username, PSU ID number, Odin account activation code, and a link to activate your Odin account. Make sure to keep this email so that you have a record of your ID number. 

STEP FOUR: PAYMENT

When your registration request is approved and your Odin account is activated, you will receive an email asking for payment. Follow the link in the email, signing in with your Odin username and password. The cost is $75 plus a credit card processing fee of $1.50. After review, click on the “Pay Now” button, which will take you to the secure payment page. Once you submit your payment, you will receive a payment receipt by email. Now you are officially registered for the course.
