Study Abroad in Israel

The Lorry I. Lokey Endowed Fund for Israel Scholarship provides between $1,000 and $5,000 annually for a Judaic Studies major to travel to and study abroad in Israel. The annual application deadline is February 1.

Scholarship recipient Madeleine Marcus, recipient of the Lorry I. Lokey Scholarship for study abroad in Israel (2018) and Judaic Studies Major, graduated Portland State University in June 2019.

Maddie combined her scholarship with another program, "Reporting Live Capstone," as offered through the Education Abroad program at Portland State University.

The Judaic Studies Program works closely with the staff at Education Abroad to assist major degree students to pursue opportunities to study in Israel.
