Who is the PSU Gerontological Society of America Student Chapter?

We are an interdisciplinary group of students who study or aim to work in or alongside the field of aging. We are connected to the Gerontological Society of America - Emerging Scholar and Professional Organization & a network of other GSA Student Chapters.

This is open to any full-time, part-time, or fellowship student at Portland State University who is interested in joining.

Guiding Principles

  • Create interdisciplinary awareness and collaboration across campus including events, projects, and workshops. 
  • Promote our position as an Age-Friendly University and combat ageism by collaborating with the Senior Adult Learning Center and other older adults on campus.
  • Prioritize diverse membership and social connectedness by centering the voices of marginalized older adults and connecting with campus resource centers.
