  1. Julia Freybote, Business faculty, was elected by the American Real Estate Society to its presidential track, which over the next four years will involve vice program chair, program chair, president elect, and president.
  2. Shirley A. Jackson, Sociology faculty, is a member of the American Sociological Association’s Contribution to Teaching Award Committee.
  3. Shirley A. Jackson, Sociology faculty, organized the Presidential Panel, “Genteel Concessions Reactionary Recalcitrance: How Elites Institutions Respond to Mobilizations from Below to Preserve the Reproduction of Fatal Inequalities” at the Pacific Sociological Association annual meetings April 1 in Bellevue, Washington.
  4. Shirley A. Jackson, Sociology faculty, was the organizer and presider for the author meets critics book session, “Civility, Free Speech, and Academic Freedom in Higher Education: Faculty on the Margins” at the Pacific Sociological Association annual meetings April 2 in Bellevue, Washington.
  5. Maura Kelly, Sociology faculty, had her research cited in “3 Ways States Can Expand and Sustain the Infrastructure Workforce by Meeting Child Care Needs” from the Center for American Progress.
  6. Piman Limpaphayom, Business faculty, was interviewed for and quoted in the article “Local Banking Environment Not Worried About Bank Failures” published in Vancouver Business Journal.
  7. Hyeyoung Woo, Sociology faculty, has been appointed to be a member of the Advisory Board of the Korean Society of Oregon.
  8. Marisa Zapata, Homelessness Research & Action Collaborative director and Urban Studies and Planning faculty, was interviewed by OPB on the results of the Point-In-Time Count of people experiencing homelessness, which was the collaborative coordinated.
