What is the Intensive English Language Program?

The Intensive English Language Program (IELP) is a fully integrated department of Portland State University (PSU). The IELP is here to help you improve your English for: enrolling in a degree program at an American university, for personal growth, or for professional reasons. IELP students benefit from access to all of the extracurricular activities, services, and resources available to PSU university students. For example, IELP students can join student clubs, live in a residence hall, and use the library, computer labs, and recreation center. Additionally, students who successfully complete the Pathway Program fulfill PSU’s language proficiency requirement for undergraduate admission. Explore the IELP website and learn more about the IELP programs offered, additional support services, our exceptional faculty, and our friendly and dedicated staff.
