Spring presented

 

  1. John Hall, economics faculty, presented the paper “Philosophy Versus Natural Science: Relating the Thinking of Heraclitus and Philosophy to Evolutionary Economics” at the Western Social Science Association Meeting in Denver earlier this spring.
  2. Martín Alberto Gonzalez, Chicano/Latino Studies faculty, gave a talk as a keynote speaker for the Educational Justice Conference at Skagit Valley College on April 15 titled, “Stories of Social Justice: How Stories Can Shed Light on Social Injustices and Inspire Change.”
  3. Maurice Hamington, philosophy and women, gender and sexuality studies faculty, presented a paper, “Care Ethics and Shame” at the Annual Meeting of the American Philosophical Association, Pacific Division in Vancouver, British Columbia in April.
  4. Megann McGill, Teresa Roberts, Jeff Conn, Carolyn Quam, and Curtis Hartling, speech and hearing sciences faculty, presented on learning from underrepresented student experiences to advance inclusion through facilitated conversations at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in November. 
  5. Carolyn Quam, speech and hearing sciences faculty, and Molly Franz, former speech and hearing sciences faculty, and Ben Carlstrom ’19 co-presented on sound-category learning and memory skills in neurotypical adults and adults with language-learning disabilities at the Boston University Conference on Language Development in November. 
  6. Ozcan Tunalilar, Institute on Aging and urban studies faculty; Paula Carder, director of the Institute on Aging; and Minju Kim, graduate student, co-presented “Understanding Use of Transportation Service by Residents of Community-Based Care Settings in Oregon” at the 50th Annual Meeting of the Urban Affairs Association in Washington, D.C., in April.
