When it comes to cybersecurity, many believe that it is the sole responsibility of the IT or Security department to protect critical infrastructure. However, in these changing times, responsibility does not lie on the shoulders of the technical professionals alone, but is shared by everyone.  Join our panel of technologists and security professionals from industry and academia to discuss how we all play a role in protecting trust, identity and infrastructure. Speakers Sujata Ramamoorthy MS '95 is a Sr. Director, Security & Trust at Cisco and leads the Security Engineering group. Ramamoorthy and her team partner across Security & Trust Organization, Supply Chain, IT and various Product teams to deliver foundational capabilities to secure Cisco’s business operations, Products and Cloud Services. This includes establishing security standards, partnering to build common security tools and services, delivering consumable security automation in strategic environments in a DevSecOps model and driving adoption across Cisco. Prior to her current role, Ramamoorthy has held several leadership roles in Information Security. She was the CSO for Cisco’s Inter-Cloud Services (CIS) and prior to that Co-led a CIO level multi-year Pervasive Security program. Architects. Gasan Awad is the Vice President, Fraud and Identity Product Management at Experian. Gasan brings over 20 years of experience in financial crimes and risk management experience in the traditional and emerging financial services sector. Gasan has a track record of delivering strong results by solving for complex issues in leadership roles at Equifax as VP, Global Identity and Fraud Product Management, Revolution Money (an American Express Company) as VP, Fraud and Risk Management, CompuCredit Corporation as Director, Fraud and Disputes Management, and Prudential Bank and Trust as Assistant Vice President, Fraud Management. Gasan earned his bachelor’s degree in International Business from the University of Georgia. Tarah Wheeler MS '04 is a Cyber Project Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University‘s Kennedy School of Government. She is an International Security Fellow at New America leading a new international cybersecurity capacity building project with the Hewlett Foundation’s Cyber Initiative and a US/UK Fulbright Scholar in Cyber Security for the 2020/2021 year. She is an Electronic Frontier Foundation advisory board member, an inaugural contributing cybersecurity expert for the Washington Post and a Foreign Policy contributor on cyber warfare. She has appeared on Bloomberg Asia on US-China trade and cybersecurity. She is the author of the best-selling Women In Tech: Take Your Career to The Next Level With Practical Advice And Inspiring Stories. She is an information security researcher, political scientist in the area of international conflict, author, and poker player. She has been Head of Offensive Security & Technical Data Privacy at Splunk & Senior Director of Engineering and Principal Security Advocate at Symantec Website Security. She has led projects at Microsoft Game Studios (Halo and Lips) and architected systems at encrypted mobile communications firm Silent Circle. She has spoken on information security at the European Union, at the Malaysian Securities Commission, for Foreign Policy, the OECD and FTC, at universities such as Stanford, American, West Point, and Oxford, and multiple governmental and industry conferences. She has $3640 in lifetime cashes in the World Series of Poker. Reach her at @tarah. Moderated by Dr. Wu-chang Feng, a Professor of Computer Science in the Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science. Dr. Feng participates in the Google Cloud Platform's Faculty Expert program as well as the AWS Educate Cloud Ambassador program. He also coordinates the department's AWS Academy program offerings. His current projects include developing CTFs and codelabs to teach advanced topics in security as well as performing outreach to high-school students via camps and internships through CyberPDX and Saturday Academy. Dr. Feng received his B.S. from Penn State University and his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.
