In the event that a claim arises, Risk Management can guide managers and supervisors through the claims process.

As of July 1, 2018, the deductible is $1,000 for property claims, auto claims, and certain liability claims. The responsible party's department/unit will be assessed the deductible amount. The deductible applies to each occurrence.

General Types of Loss

Property

Property insurance provides protection against risks of physical loss or damage to university property (including university owned vehicles).

Employee Personal Property

Employee personal property is covered by PSU's property insurance program, subject to the terms of the above link (PSU's Personal Property Guideline).

General Liability

The University has general liability insurance to protect the University, its officers, board members, agents and employees from actual or alleged negligent acts, omissions, damages, or injuries to the public while acting in performance of its duties on behalf of the University.

Workers' Compensation

Workers' Compensation Insurance provides benefits for workers who are injured or suffer an occupational disease as a result of their work.

Motor Vehicle/Automotive Liability

Automobile liability provides coverage for bodily injury and property damage arising out of the use of owned, hired, and non-owned vehicles while on university business.
