A dedicated on-premises virtual workstation hosted in the PSU data center, suitable for research data analysis and other secure or sensitive data operations.
Service Details
A Microsoft Windows virtual desktop environment that automatically mounts a specific data set. Specialized data processing applications (e.g., MATLAB, Minitab, SPSS, Stata, R Studio) are available upon request.
- Standardized security controls include:
Access restricted to authorized users on campus networks (or VPN) using multi-factor authentication - Encryption at rest and transport encryption for research data
- Network traffic egress filtering and other barriers to data exfiltration

Charges and Fees
$62.08/year for each concurrent user (plus $74.48 one-time setup fee)
(Price is based on how many users will need to access the virtual workstation simultaneously, not how many total users are granted access.)
