Rik Lemoncello, PhD, CCC/SLP (he/him) is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences (SPHR) at Portland State University. His work centers on community reintegration, identity development, and return-to-work for adults living with acquired brain injury (ABI). He implements functional rehabilitation with adults to assess and manage cognitive, speech, language, and swallowing challenges associated with ABI in a holistic, social participation-focused model. He has been teaching since 2008 and loves working with students passionate about medical speech-language pathology. In 2016, Dr. Lemoncello founded a non-profit program, Sarah Bellum’s Bakery & Workshop, that empowers adults with ABI to reintegrate into the community through return-to-work in a functional rehabilitative bakery in SW Portland.
