I am honored to serve as the 11th president of Oregon’s urban public research university. Since our founding in 1946, we have stayed true to our mission as a university of opportunity, where people come to change their lives and their communities. Today, we are home to Oregon’s most racially, ethnically, and economically diverse student population. Portland State is deeply committed to the success of our students and the transformational power of higher education.
We are stitched into the fabric of Portland, through our community engaged research, internships and service learning opportunities with local business and nonprofits, and through deep, thoughtful, and mutually beneficial partnership with city government.
