Spring 2015 Survey of Graduating Seniors

During spring 2015, Portland State University (PSU) surveyed graduating seniors about their undergraduate experiences and post-graduation plans. The survey was emailed to 2,112 students who had applied to graduate with a bachelor’s degree at the end of Spring Term. A total of 667 students (32 percent) completed the survey. Respondent demographic characteristics closely mirrored those of the PSU undergraduate population.

Data Supplement: How Did Revenue and Spending per Student Change at PSU Between 2006-07 and 2011-12?

A recent Postsecondary Analytics report sponsored by the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) examined the change in revenue and spending per student at colleges and universities across the country. The report presented aggregate results for groups of institutions based on Carnegie classifications. This data supplement provides institution-level data for Portland State University (PSU) compared to other Carnegie “high-research” public institutions and other APLU-member institutions for each of the measures included in the original report. Change is measured from 2006-07 through 2011-12.

A Comparison of Three Completion Reports

The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), the Student Achievement Measure (SAM), and the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) Research Center all provide measurements of student progress and completion. Important methodological differences, however, lead to different results. Each measurement has strengths and weaknesses that need to be taken into account when interpreting results.
