Oregon is unique! Our certified Registry Trainers offer independent certified training sessions accepted by the Oregon Registry, which means the training sessions satisfy Oregon’s Child Care Licensing Division licensing requirements. Professionals in the field may take independent certified training to move up the Oregon Registry Steps, up to Step 10. All certified training sessions are developed using the foundational document, Oregon's Core Knowledge Categories for early learning profession serving children birth to age 8.
There are five types of certified trainers in Oregon. Each trainer type is based on the trainer’s education and professional development experiences. Trainer type determines the specific Core Knowledge Categories and knowledge standards (Set One, Set Two, Set Three) a trainer may use to develop and deliver training:
- Master Trainer: develop and deliver certified training that meets Set One, Two, & Three standards in all Core Knowledge Categories.
- Specialty Master Trainer: develop and deliver certified training that meets Set One, Two, & Three training standards in approved Core Knowledge Categories.
- Community Trainer: develop and deliver certified training that meets Set One standards in all Core Knowledge Categories.
- Specialty Community Trainer: develop and deliver certified training that meets Set One standards in approved Core Knowledge Categories.
- Standardized Trainer: recruited only when a Training of Trainers session is scheduled.
Certify Your Training Sessions
Only certified Oregon Registry Trainers and Sponsoring Organizations may develop and offer Oregon Registry Trainer Program certified training, and all training sessions must go through a review process before they are certified. Plan to submit your proposal at least six to eight weeks before you expect to offer the training session.
