Online Training
OCCD offers several online training sessions specific to Oregon childhood care and education through Learning with OCCD. Courses are available for free with licensing required and adult training options.
To create an account:
- Find a course to enroll in, and click on the course card
- On the enrollment page for the course, click the black "enroll now" button
- This will take you to a page where you can log in, or create a new account
As an alternative to using our online courses, self-studies for required training are available down below.
Self-Study Training
To receive credit for self-study trainings, you must:
- Read the training information.
- Complete all the activities. The activities are private and will not be shared.
- Submit the quiz and evaluation at the end to the Oregon Center for Career Development (OCCD) in one of the following ways:
- Scan or take a photo the completed quiz and evaluation portions of the self-study and attach to an email to: centerline@pdx.edu
- Print a scanned copy or photo of the completed quiz and evaluation portions of the self-study and mail to OCCD. Please send mail using PSU-OCCD Attention: Self Study PO Box 751 Portland, OR 97207-075.
The Department of Early Learning and Care (DELC) offers a self-study option for the following courses:
- ERDC Child Care Provider Orientation Part 1
- Foundations for Learning
- Introduction to Child Care Health and Safety
- Introduction to Registered Family Child Care Part One
- Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect
- Safe Sleep for Oregon's Infants
Online and Self-Study Training not offered by OCCD, DELC, or an Oregon Registry Trainer Program registered Sponsoring Organization must meet quality requirements outlined in the Oregon Registry: Training and Education Criteria and the content must link to Oregon's Core Knowledge Categories.
