The King Albert Residence Hall is a four-floor with basement student residence facing east along the southern edge of the SW Montgomery right-of-way and 11th Avenue. It shares a block with Stephen Epler Hall to its west and Hoffman Hall to its south. The ground floor features retail business space and a University Success center.

The building features unfurnished, single-occupancy studio apartments available year-round to non-first year students. Amenities include a full kitchen (stove/oven and refrigerator), private bathroom (bathtub only, no shower), and hardwood floors. University Success West is an in-hall, after hours academic support hub for residents which offers a comfortable lounge, group study spaces, free printing, and free tea. University Success staff provide academic coaching, writing support, resume help, financial support, time management, goal setting, and more.

King Albert was designed by I.A. Peters and completed in 1918. The building was acquired in 1969 by Portland Student Services to serve as Portland State student housing.
