Why do a Student Experience Course Walkthrough?

By participating in a Student Experience Course Walkthrough, you get to hear directly from students on how they experience your course. You will receive feedback on the technology, curriculum, navigation, communication, and the student experience within your course shell in the learning management system, and receive the support of instructional designers at OAI to provide additional resources, ideas, and collaboration. This is purely a formative service as a way for faculty to get direct feedback from students about the design of their course and is in no way evaluative.

I strongly encourage all professors to take part in the student walkthrough.

A Student-Led Process

This process is led by student workers who work closely with OAI staff. Students meet quarterly with the user experience team at OAI to review the template and to iterate according to faculty feedback who have previously participated with the student team and to better center equity and inclusion in the process.

“I found it very helpful to know I was on the right track with my remote course design. I was glad to know it was easy to navigate and communicated a welcoming environment for students.” - PSU Faculty Member
