In this interactive session, we’ll explore how instructional design principles, student-centered pedagogies, and inclusive teaching practices can foster academic integrity and engagement. We’ll also consider where originality checkers and proctoring software do—or don’t—fit, including their benefits and trade-offs.
Most importantly, we’ll make space to learn from one another. Bring a challenge you’re navigating or a strategy that has worked, and come ready to share, listen, and explore together. Participants will leave with practical ideas for communicating expectations, helping students build academic integrity skills, and making thoughtful choices about digital tools.

Ashlie has worked in the education and training field for 27 years, with the majority of that time serving higher ed and adult learners. Though her main expertise is in instructional design, online program development, and educational technology, she also spent eight years teaching language arts and writing, including introductory and advanced composition, creative writing, copywriting, and writing for health professions. Ashlie loves learning and teaching, and has strong interests in equity, accessibility, social justice, and student-centered, inclusive teaching.
