General Education Reform

A bolder, more connected path to your degree — launching Fall 2028

Approved by the Faculty Senate in May 2026, PSU's new General Education model connects your first classes on campus directly to your major, your career goals, and the world you'll graduate into. It will be a streamlined, relevant, and connected general education experience — and it launches Fall 2028.

Currently enrolled or starting before Fall 2028? Nothing changes for you right now. Every student who begins General Education under the current model will be able to complete it, and PSU is building a seamless transition plan so continuing students are fully supported no matter which model they finish under.
