Position Summary:
The Vice Provost for Faculty Success (VPFS) is a full-time, 12-month, unclassified, unrepresented
position reporting to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs in the Office of Academic
Affairs (OAA).
The VPFS is a member of the Provost’s Executive Committee and the Academic Leadership Team
(ALT), and leads the Academic Employee and Labor Relations Team (AELR). The VPFS is a key
pillar in the administration and support of faculty success and academic affairs. The position is
housed in the OAA and is responsible for the programming and policy implementation, programing
for academic personnel and faculty success initiatives, and collective bargaining with the American
Association of University Professors (AAUP), the Portland State University Faculty Association
(PSUFA-AFT), and the Graduate Employees Union (GEU-AFT).
