Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies

Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) is an interdisciplinary program designed to foster students' personal and intellectual development and to prepare them for socially responsible citizenship as well as a broad range of careers. Women's Studies advisors work closely with each student to craft a course of study appropriate to the student's academic interests and post-graduate goals.

Oregon Queer History Collective

Formerly known as GLAPN (Gay and Lesbian Archives of the Pacific Northwest), Oregon Queer History Collective serves the greater public interest in advancing the visibility of queer cultural history in Oregon. Historical materials are available at Oregon Historical Society library and on the Oregon Queer History Collective's website.  The collective participates in community advocacy and regularly puts on programming and exhibits.


Local Scholarships

Portland State Scholarships

PSU offers a variety of scholarships through their general scholarship application. These scholarships are awarded by both general (non-degree specific) as well as programmatic, departmental, and college-specific scholarships. This application is used to apply to several PSU specific scholarships and is open October 1st to February 1st. 

Audria M. Edwards Scholarship

The Audria M. Edwards Scholarship Fund was established in 1987 by her children, Woody Johnson a.k.a. Lady Elaine Peacock and Misty Waters. The Scholarship is administered by Peacock Productions Inc. and is available to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community and/or the children of gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender persons who reside in Oregon and/or Southwest Washington.
