QRC Events

The Queer Resource Center hosts annual events throughout the Academic Year. Our events and programs are designed for and center the experiences of trans and queer students. Our events and programs are free and open to community members. If you want to get involved in planning events, programs, or hosting an affinity group, reach out to us. On this page you will find information about our events and programs, brief overviews, and links that will help you learn more and get involved. 

Event Accessibility

Our events are for all queer and trans students, which includes making specific choices about the rooms we use, supplies, seating, sound, food, language interpreters, and event hosts. Please contact us with accessibility request and questions.

Affinity Groups

Affinity Groups are a vital part of the QRC's programming that provides direct community support for students. Affinity Groups are spaces made for students who share an identity to convene together, build community, offer support, and explore identity.

Qrientation

Join QRC Staff and new students for QrienTation, a two hour orientation to welcome all queer and trans student to PSU and to the QRC. Please include any accommodations in your registration, registration is required.

TEMPRR Days

TEMPRR Days is an annual month of programming in November surrounding Trans Day of Remembrance. TEMPRR stands for Trans Empowerment, Resilience, and Resistance. Programs offer space for trans students to honor trans people lost, while also building community. Check back for updates.

Sex Week

QRC staff and volunteers plan Sex Week annually, organizing a week of programming surrounding queer and trans sex and sexuality, every Winter. Sex Week brings together students, community, and local organizations in demystifying queer and trans sexuality and support their wellness. Check back for programming in Winter!

Queer Students of Color Conference

The Queer Students of Color Conference is an annual event started in 2010 to create collaborative space for queer and transgender students of color across the country to share space, work, and learn together.

PSU Pride

Every Spring we celebrate queer & trans Pride with a series of programming! Students, faculty/staff, and community come together annually every Spring Term to plan social, educational, and community events to celebrate queer and trans pride.

Lavender Graduation

Lavender Graduation

The Queer Resource Center at Portland State University is thrilled to invite you and your family, friends, and loved ones to our annual Lavender Graduation! Lavender graduation is generally held in early June.
