About This Course

HR professionals play a key role in attracting and retaining employees, and an important factor in this is the development and implementation of total rewards packages in regards to compensation and benefits. In this course, participants will learn how total rewards aligns with the broader strategic HR management function, with a focus on how key elements of a complete employee benefits program can be fully integrated into a total compensation system.

  • Understand remuneration data collection & analysis
  • Evaluate jobs
  • Think strategically about leave plans & approaches (ex. vacation, holiday, sick, paid/unpaid leave)
  • Be familiar with other benefits (ex. disability, flex, wellness, retirement)
  • Evaluate total rewards metrics & benchmarks

The Learning Environment

The course is delivered remotely, with a blend of synchronous and asynchronous activities. Virtual live sessions provide opportunities to engage with the instructor and other students in real-time and self-paced activities give students the chance to work through content on their own schedule. 

Courses may be taken individually and in any order unless otherwise noted. Six courses are required to complete the certificate. If pursuing the certificate, all courses in the certificate program must be completed within three years. Visit the program page for a recommended sequence.
