The Fariborz Maseeh Department of Mathematics + Statistics is located on the fourth floor of Fariborz Maseeh Hall.  After an extensive 20-month renovation,  Fariborz Maseeh Hall opened its doors as a vibrant center for student success, interdisciplinary learning and cultural outreach.  Located between SW Broadway and the South Park Blocks, the 217,000 square foot building provides modern accommodations with reconfigured and expanded classrooms to support academic excellence and interdisciplinary connections.
 

Department Computer Lab

The department computer lab is located in the basement of Fariborz Maseeh Hall (FMH) room B127. It is available for general use when classes are not in session. Check the Computer Lab Schedule for current hours.

Mildred L. Bennett Math Resource Lab

The lab is located in FMH 463.

Winter 2023 hours:

Mondays 11:00AM-2:00PM
Tuesdays & Thursdays 10:00AM-12:00PM, 1:00-3:00PM
Wednesdays 2:00-4:00PM

If you require access at times other than those listed or would like schedule lab time for a tour for your class, send email to sylviag@pdx.edu or call 503-725-3600. If the lab is not open, return items to the math office or to Sylvia Giroux's mailbox (if you have access).  Please affix a note with your name and their intended destination to the returned item(s). Our goal is to facilitate the teaching, learning, and appreciation of mathematics. To do this, we provide a dynamic collection of resources that are useful for anyone interested in mathematics. Special emphasis is placed on providing source materials for math educators.

Student Tutoring Lounge

Equipped with a large whiteboard, the student lounge in FMH 400 is a place where students can work together on mathematical problems and engage in group study. 

The department's new graduate teaching assistants are trained by the PSU Learning Center and will offer undergraduate-level, drop-in tutoring in the space. Please sign in to PENJI and filter on location for availability.
