George F. Watson IV is an Assistant Professor of Marketing and Fred Meyer Retail Research Fellow at The School of Business where he teaches marketing strategy and analytics. His research focuses on customer loyalty and customer relationship management across multiple marketing channels. His research has been published in the Journal of Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Retailing, Journal of International Marketing, and MIT’s Sloan Management Review. He also serves as an academic reviewer for the Journal of Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, and Industrial Marketing Management. Before joining PSU, he was on faculty at Colorado State University where he was a College of Business Dean’s Scholar. 

Prior to academia, he worked in consulting for market research, brand management, and strategic communications for clients as diverse as Fortune 500 companies, political candidates, and non-profit organizations, where his project team received a Gold David Ogilvy Award for Excellence in Advertising Research from the Advertising Research Foundation. Additionally, he has held positions in mergers & acquisitions analysis for a multinational government contractor and worked in consumer technology startups in Silicon Valley and Seattle.
