Maverix

Maverix Logo

Maverix is a leadership program serving LGBTQ2SIA+* students in The School of Business. LGBTQ2SIA+ students face obstacles and experiences unique to their community, which many may never have been prepared for or even informed about until they come face to face with them. The Maverix program's two main areas of focus are:

  1. To provide education, resources, and community building for our students during their time in the business program with hopes that they will be able to utilize them long after they have left our program.
  2. In respect to these unique obstacles and experiences the Maverix program also aims to provide resources and education to the broader SB community in hopes to create new relationships and strengthen those already formed.

*Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Two-Spirit, Intersex, Asexual, and all other sexual orientations and genders not encompassed in this acronym. Our language is always changing.

Maverix provides one-on-one, holistic support to queer, trans, and nonbinary students in the School of Business. Being a student is one part of who you are and we recognize that all the other roles you have in your life affect you in your role as a student. In the application, we ask:

  • What does holistic support mean to you?

  • What challenges do you want support working through?

To be eligible for Maverix, students need to:

  • Have declared business as their major or be currently enrolled in a graduate business program.
  • Self-identify as LGBTQ2SIA+.
  • Attend the Maverix orientation.
  • Participate in Maverix events throughout the academic year.
  • Complete pre-and post-evaluations at the start and end of the academic year.
