Master of Taxation

The curriculum for the Master of Taxation has been co-developed with tax practitioners from both public accounting firms and corporate tax departments to equip you with the knowledge, skills and hands-on experience that will advance your career in tax.

You can earn the Master of Taxation in 12 months as a full-time student, or 18-24 months as a part-time student. The program starts in the summer or fall and includes 45 credits of hybrid courses, plus required weekend-long in-person residencies once per quarter. The Master of Taxation concludes with a capstone project based on an in-depth, real-world case study.

MT Schedule

Designed with a summer and fall start to align with industry recruiting cycles, as well as room for paid internships during tax season, the MT program places your new career in tax front and center.

Orientation and Residency

Orientation will be held in September (the date will be updated here once confirmed). Summer term residency will occur in June and fall term residency will occur in September. Winter term residency will occur in January and spring term residency will occur in April after April 15. The first session of each class term will take place in person during residency. Attendance is required at residency. 

Sample Full-Time Schedule

Part-time students will take a total of 45 credits over 12 months. 

The summer start date gets you on track toward a strong interview season which begins in September. By that time you will have completed a full quarter of the program, gained valuable expertise, and built relationships with instructors who can speak to your potential as an employee or intern.

Winter and spring terms have been structured to accommodate internships and practicums during tax season.
