Group Tours

PSU Group Visit Overview

Group visits are designed exclusively for high school (9th-12th grade) students, teams, or community groups and are meant for groups with 10 or more student participants. Reservations are required.

We are unable to host guided K-8 visits. We have compiled resources for folks interested in bringing elementary-aged students to PSU.

Our office provides two different options for group visits:

  1. General Campus Visits
  2. Self-Guided Tours

Guided Group Tours

General Campus Tour

  • University Welcome Center Check-In (15 minutes): Arrive at our office, check in at the Welcome Center and receive printed materials about PSU and admissions.
  • Campus Tour (1 hour): Current PSU students lead these walking tours while sharing their personal experiences. Due to scheduling capacity, housing and the rec center are NOT included in our group visits.
  • Admissions Information Overview (30 minutes): A representative of the Office of Admissions will speak about academics, honors program, housing, the admissions process and answer questions.
Group Visits can only be scheduled for the current term. Please see the schedule below for more information about dates:
  • 2018 Fall Term tours begin October 2nd and end November 29th (no tours Nov. 8th & 22nd )
  • 2019 Winter Term tours begin January 15th (request form will be available starting on Dec. 4th at 12pm)
  • 2019 Spring Term tours begin April 2nd

Guided group visit sessions are only offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10am and 1pm, & Wednesdays at 10am only. Due to our office capacity, only three groups of 40 students maximum can be accommodated a week, 1 group per day, and we are only able to schedule visits until the end of the current term.

To Submit A Request:

  • View the Group Visits Calendar for availability
  • Download our Fall Term 2018 Visit Request Packet and fill it out as accurately as possible. Hoping to request a visit for Winter Term 2019? Our request form will be uploaded on Dec. 4th at 12pm.
  • Please send the completed form to campusvisits@pdx.edu for review (your completed form is considered an inquiry and is NOT a guarantee or confirmation of your visit).
  • PSU Campus Visits will respond via phone or email within three business days regarding your inquiry status.

Dates are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Please submit your group Visit Request Packet at least three weeks in advance of your preferred visit date and time. If there is no availability on the date you would like to attend or if the date has been reserved, please email campusvisits@pdx.edu for a self-guided tour packet.

Self-Guided Group Tours

Groups interested in exploring PSU on their own or that are unable to secure a date but still intend on visiting campus are encouraged to participate in a self-guided tour. Groups can participate on any date at any time.

Certain buildings have limited access (especially on the weekends) and cannot be viewed as part of a self-guided visit.

If you would like to request more information and receive guidance on how to schedule your self-guided visit, please email campusvisits@pdx.edu.

Late/Cancellation Policy

Notify the Campus Visits office if you need to cancel, modify agenda/student count, or will be late for your campus visit at least one week in advance by calling 503-725-5555 or emailing campusvisits@pdx.edu.

Late arrivals may receive an abbreviated schedule. If a group is a no-show or cancels within one week or less before the scheduled visit we cannot guarantee that we will be able to fulfill subsequent requests from the group.

Confirmation

We make every effort to respond to visit requests within 1-2 business days. If you do not receive a campus visit confirmation via e-mail within that time, we recommend you first check your "junk mail" or "spam mail" folder for any correspondence from our office. If the email is not found, then we recommend you contact our office so we can resend a new confirmation e-mail.
