In addition to its weekly newsletters and Scholarship & Research in Progress (SRIP) Sessions, SDHI offers a variety of other research-related support activities.

Initiative Expertise Database

We maintain a searchable SDH Initiative Expertise Database. This database allows us to help individuals find potential collaborators or mentors who have specific areas of expertise and interests. The database allows us to quickly identify people with expertise or interest in a variety of social issues, health issues, special populations, and research methods. It also helps us identify people who have current or past funding from particular governmental funding agencies. Contact sdhi@pdx.edu to learn more or request information.

Autism in Adulthood

The Social Determinants of Health Initiative supported the launch of a new journal called Autism in Adulthood, published by Mary Ann Liebert, Inc (www.liebertpub.com/aut). This journal offers a home for research and scholarship on the most pressing issues affecting the lives of autistic adults. It uses an innovative participatory approach to include the contributions of autistic adults - as Editorial Board members, authors, peer-reviewers, and readers - into the peer-reviewed literature. Contact the Initiative's director, Christina Nicolaidis, to learn more.

SDHI Accountability Workgroup

With the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on our everyday work, a number of SDHI Scholars formed a remote work group to increase social connections and help hold each other accountable as they continued their research and advocacy from home. To learn more, contact sdhi@pdx.edu.

Scholar Repository

In early 2020, the Initiative began building a repository for its Scholars to better share helpful research-related information, including example grant proposals, methods papers, and other helpful resources and links. To inquire about our repository, contact sdhi@pdx.edu.
