What do you plan to do with your fluency in Russian?

I plan to use fluency in Russian to obtain a career where that would be useful. Most likely this would be a job specifically in translating or interpreting, such as working for a hospital or a courthouse, or translating texts, perhaps medical.

What attracted you to the PSU Russian Flagship?

I was attracted to PSU Russian Flagship by the discovery that you can get through four years of Russian in two years. As Russian is a passion of mine, I am excited by the possibility of learning Russian as quickly as possible. I was also intrigued by the possibility of working with other like-minded individuals who are serious about obtaining fluency.

What’s the best aspect of being in the PSU Russian Flagship?

The best aspect of the PSU Russian Flagship program to me is that it specifically prepares people to learn Russian for professional settings.

Why is fluency in Russian important to you?

Fluency in Russian is important to me for two main reasons. First, it is a skill and an asset, which I could use professionally to bridge the language barrier between other people. Second, I am simply very fond of Russian. I like the way it sounds, a lot of my best friends when I was growing up were Russian speakers, and I am fond of Russian music. Learning Russian has been a dream of mind for some time now and one of the only things that I am very passionate about, and learning it would be fulfilling.
