Calendar Celebrate Law Day 2026 by Joining Professor Chris Shortell and Brian Marshall, Oregon Department of Justice, for a timely and engaging conversation on federalism in the state of Oregon. This event is co-sponsored by the Multnomah Bar Association and the Politics and Global Affairs department at PSU. ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:Christopher Shortell is a Professor of Political Science in the Mark O. Hatfield School of Government at Portland State University. Professor Shortell also serves as a pre-law advisor for the university. He writes and teaches on the relationship between law and the broader political system, with a particular focus on the interactions between law and society, law and elections, and federalism. Chris Shortell is currently writing a book on the rule of law.
