BIO:
Prof. Reşat Kasaba (Ph.D., SUNY—Binghamton) has taught for more than thirty years at the University of Washington in the Henry M. Jackson School of International Affairs. Among his publications are A Moveable Empire: Ottoman Empire, Migrants, and Refugees (Seattle, 2009), winner of the Fuat Köprülü Book Award from the Turkish Studies Association in 2010; and Volume Four of the Cambridge History of Modern Turkey (Cambridge, 2010), which he edited. He has served, among many other positions, as director of the Henry M. Jackson School (2010-2020), and is a member of the Turkish Academy of Sciences.
