Faculty Senators are elected by their respective divisions. Adjunct Faculty Senators are elected by their respective voting sectors. Ex-officio members of Faculty Senate are do not vote (unless they are also elected senators), but may make motions and participate in discussions without further recognition. Ex-officio members include administrators at the level of dean or vice provost and above; chairs of constitutional Faculty committees; and various Senate and Faculty officers.
