Leopoldo Rodriguez has expertise in in Argentina, Latin America, international financial crises, neoliberal reforms and democracy, sustainable rural development and agroecology.
Rodriguez wrote his doctoral dissertation on the Mexican peso financial crisis of 1994 and has closely followed the recurring financial crises of Argentina (2001 and 2018) in relation to neoliberal policies and the erosion of democracy. He has also studied sustainable development in Argentina, initially looking at rural development in the province of Tucumán, and more recently at the adoption of agroecology by horticulturalists in the outskirts of Buenos Aires.
