Jeffrey D. Robinson studies doctor-patient communication and its association with outcomes of care. His research focuses on reducing inappropriate antibiotic prescribing, increasing childhood vaccination rates and improving the quality of communication in general-practice and cancer contexts. 

Previously holding positions at Penn State and Rutgers University, Robinson has been a professor of communication for 24 years. He has received multiple NIH grants, and published over 80 journal articles and book chapters.
