Heejun Chang's work examines the combined impacts of climate change and urban development on water supply, water quality, water demand, and water ecosystem services. Chang's recent research focuses on: nature-based solutions for enhancing water-related ecosystem services (floods and water quality); wildfire impacts on water resources; multi-hazards and community resilience. 

Chang is also the associate dean for the Research and Graduate Programs at Portland State's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
