Alison Heryer is an interdisciplinary artist whose work combines textiles, performance and social practice. She has exhibited work in theaters, galleries, screens, storefronts and public spaces across the world. She loves thinking where clothing comes from, how it is made and how it is used to construct identity.

Heryer is a member of United Scenic Artists Local 829, Costume Society of America, and Textile Society of America. She is the chair of the textile arts curriculum, where she was recently granted the Sue Horn-Caskey & Charles F. Caskey Professorship of Textile Arts & Costume Design. Her research focuses on the development of sustainable and inclusive pedagogy to clothing the body for contexts in fashion, entertainment and contemporary art.
