The Center for Entrepreneurship extends a warm welcome to its newest addition, Abigail Van Gelder, who will be taking over the logistics and implementation of the Center's events, including Invent Oregon.

Abigail's education in marketing and communications at Western Illinois University and Southern New Hampshire University and her wealth of experience in experiential marketing for Michigan-based agency MRA has taken her across the country, traveling as many as 320 days a year, to execute events on behalf of clients that include Rohde & Schwarz, the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library.

After she settled in Portland in 2017, Abigail produced events at Portland agency Henry V. She is looking forward to elevating the Center's 2021 events, all virtual due to COVID, with a seamless digital experience.

Originally from Mt. Sterling, Illinois, Abigail and her husband now live in northeast Portland. Event planning is a Van Gelder family pastime, but when she is not on the job, Abigail enjoys SCUBA diving and celebrating the acclaimed British sci-fi series Dr. Who.

Please join us in welcoming her to the Center and Portland State family!
