How To Participate

Commencement ceremonies are events held in June to celebrate your graduation from Portland State. The university hosts combined ceremonies, and some schools, colleges and campus organizations hold their own separate ceremonies.

Apply for a degree or certificate

To participate in commencement ceremonies, you must apply for a degree or certificate online and sign up for commencement on the Graduation Application.

To participate in the June 2026 commencement ceremonies: 

• Undergraduate students must apply for a degree or certificate.
• Graduate students must apply for a degree or certificate.

Eligible ceremonies

The term you expect to graduate from PSU determines which commencement ceremonies you’re eligible to participate in.
