Dear Campus Community,
Today is our final message to the campus community ahead of our last round of board meetings scheduled for later this week. The end of the year always brings reflection, excitement, and most importantly, reminds all of us why we are here — our students, including the thousands of graduates in the Class of 2025! I offer my heartfelt congratulations to you all.
As always, I am sharing the following message ahead of our upcoming meetings later this week and will send a follow-up message following our meetings on Friday.
On Thursday, June 5, board committees will discuss several items, including:
- FY 2026 Internal Audit Report
- Briefings on Enrollment Management, the State of the Graduate School, and leveraging AI for students and faculty
- Board Officer Elections
- FY 2025-26 Preliminary Operating Budget
At our full board meeting on Friday, we will have the following items.
- Update from the Government Relations
- Updates from Portland State University Foundation, Faculty Senate, and the Associated Students of Portland State University (ASPSU)
- Action Items from the Committee meetings: SB273 Report, Board Officer Elections, FY 2026 Internal Audit Report, Model for Partnerships and Investments, and FY 2025-26 Preliminary Operating Budget
Public Comment
I want to remind the campus community that we value your input and welcome public comment at our full board meetings. While we have a limited time for public comment, I want to encourage anyone to email trustees@pdx.edu if you don’t have time to join our meetings or would like to submit something.
As I mentioned above, following the meeting, we will continue our practice of issuing a campus-wide communication to highlight the key themes of the public comments received and share actions taken by the board. Please review these post-meeting communications and we welcome any feedback you may have on this approach.
Closing
As always, the Board webpage has various resources that you may find helpful, including the yearly calendar, meeting notices, meeting recordings, and other information. Feel free to use the Feedback form, also on the webpage, where you can share meeting feedback, general comments, or recommendations on characteristics or candidates we should consider when we have a trustee vacancy.
