Does submitting an application guarantee funding?
In short, no. The committee members will overlook your application and decide if there is significant need and how much they deem appropriate. The committee is committed to provide a significant amount of support to as many members of the Black Studies, Pan-African Commons and Black Student Union as possible.
When will the funds/laptops be distributed?
We’re a small, but mighty committee of five individuals, who also teach and have to carry out other administrative duties on campus, so thank you for your patience! We hope to get back to students within two weeks of receiving your application materials.
How will grant funds be distributed?
Upon review, you will be contacted by a committee member on your award with follow-up steps on how/where to submit any other required materials to the Foundation. Students are encouraged to sign up for direct deposit to ensure timely payment.
How will laptops be distributed?
We currently have limited supplies of loaner laptops. If you marked that you require a loaner laptop for this academic year, a Committee member will follow up with you on how and where to pick up your device. Loaner laptops are also available through the PSU Library.
Are grants from the BST Student COVID-19 Relief Grant taxable income?
