CPID Continuing the Conversation - Everything is Interrelated Forum By Sergio Palleroni

Join Sergio Palleroni, Director and Co-Founder of the Center for Public Interest Design (CPID), for a 1-hour Deep Dive exploring over 40 years of public interest design work with communities around the world. Palleroni has worked with Indigenous communities globally—from Tibet and Mexico to the Pacific Northwest—and is a faculty member in the PSU School of Architecture. He is also the founder of the Graduate Certificate in Public Interest Design, the first of its kind in the Americas. This interactive session will feature case studies and audience Q&A, centered on the idea that everything is interrelated as a designer. Topics include:

  • Learning to Apply a Relational Worldview Based on Cultural Values of those you Serve
  • Using locally sourced natural materials in ways that build on cultural values
  • Discovering Country
  • The importance of recognizing the four directions, while Honoring Water, Earth, Light, Air, Seasons, and the other species on the Land on which you will build.
