Academic Integrity and AI

How can educators meet the challenge of promoting academic integrity in a world with Artificial Intelligence (AI)? In this event, we'll consider how to effectively and empathetically reframe academic dishonesty so we can feel empowered to maximize AI's pedagogical potential. We'll unpack the interplay between policing, surveillance, hyper-individualism, and ableism, and discuss how these factors shape our understanding of authenticity and rigor in education. Participants will share their experiences and perspectives on implementing a revitalized framework that considers academic dishonesty as a psychological substitution so that harm to learning communities can be reduced and we can together lift up AI's potential benefits.
