Services for Students with Children offers integrated services to support Portland State University students working to complete their degrees while raising young children. Through events, advocacy, peer mentorship, and subsidies. We hope to ensure that every student parent has the opportunity to complete their academic goals and provide a brighter future for themselves and their children. There are a number of ways you can support the SSWC!
SSWC Hardship Fund
Services for Students with Children offers integrated services to support Portland State University students working to complete their degrees while raising young children. Your gift to the SSWC Hardship Fund provides immediate support to students with flexible funds to cover academic and personal expenses, such as housing, medical bills, groceries, utilities, student fees, and childcare costs. Scholarships

Winter Wonder
The Winter Wonder program, coordinated through the Resource Center for Students with Children, provides crucial support to PSU students and their families. This year has been particularly difficult for students with children, many of whom are grappling with a lack of childcare and adequate resources in addition to the struggle to make ends meet during the holiday season. Please consider donating to the Services for Students with Children Hardship Fund! Funds are distributed to student parents based on family size and serves to provide critical assistance to students in need. For questions email sswc@pdx.edu. Donate Clothes and Housewares for Shop for Free
Are you cleaning out your house or office? Donate your gently used items to the Resource Center for Students with Children's "Shop for Free" event! Please email sswc@pdx.edu to find out when the next Shop for Free event is scheduled. We Accept: Toys, Adult or Children's clothing, Children's Books, Housewares, and School Supplies.
Volunteer for Events
We have a number of events throughout the year that requires time and talent from dedicated volunteers. Volunteers do not need to have any prior experience, but a genuine interest in engaging with young children is required.
