Support Flagship

Every gift to the Russian Flagship Program at PSU helps support students in learning how to think critically and communicate persuasively in Russian, develop global perspectives, and prepare for careers in a fast-changing world.

The Russian Flagship Scholarship was superseded in 2018 by the Sandra G. Freels Endowed Scholarship for Study of Russian at PSU. Since the Freels Scholarship reached its base endowment goal in 2018, the fund has provided one scholarship of $1,000 to partially support a student studying abroad in Kazakhstan on the yearlong Overseas Flagship Program or on the Summer Russian Language and Areas Studies Program. Continuing donations will help the Flagship Program provide more substantial awards to deserving students and awards for additional students.  DONATE HERE

Retired Director Sandra Freels

Sandra Freels Endowed Scholarship for the Study of Russian

Dr. Sandra Freels was the founding director of the Russian Flagship Program at Portland State. This scholarship is a wonderful way to honor Sandra for her three-plus decades of service to PSU students.

Your support, at whatever amount, will help create a lasting legacy in Sandy’s name. Every gift matters!
