Career Goals: What do you plan to do with your fluency in Russian?
I am interested in translation and interpreting as well as teaching Russian as a foreign language.
What attracted you to the Flagship Program?
The fact that the Russian Flagship Program offers a year abroad and the promise of reaching a high level of fluency is very important to me personally and necessary for the work I plan to do in the future.
What’s the best aspect of being in the Flagship Program?
Learning a new language is a very hard thing and the Russian Flagship Program at PSU provides an enthusiastic, immersive, and safe environment in which to learn, make mistakes, and improve.
Why is fluency in Russian important to you?
Fluency means being able to communicate more effectively and precisely in a wide range of situations, from colloquial conversations on the street to formal and political settings. Gaining a high level of fluency translates to having more opportunities to build relationships with people and to express oneself in different situations.
