Career Goals: What do you plan to do with your fluency in Russian?
I would like to have a career as an academic in the applied linguistics field. Being fluent in Russian will broaden my research possibilities.

What attracted you to the Flagship Program?
At first, I thought I would only pursue a minor in Russian. However, after seeing how enthusiastic I was about Russian, a faculty member encouraged me to apply to the Flagship Program. While it wasn’t in my initial university plans, I am now grateful to be a part of the Flagship Program.

What’s the best aspect of being in the Flagship Program?
I love having such an extensive support system. The PSU Russian Flagship Program is a community that supports each other in our Russian learning processes. I never feel like I’m alone in my triumphs and struggles of learning a language. It always keeps me motivated.

Why is fluency in Russian vital to you?
Becoming fluent in Russian will not only let me perform applied linguistics beyond just English but also let me build connections with more people and gain more appreciation for a culture different from my own.
