What do you plan to do with your fluency in Russian?
I plan to work in translation or language analysis. Also, I plan to speak Russian in everyday life at home!

What attracted you to the PSU Russian Flagship?
I love learning foreign languages, especially Russian. I was so excited when I heard there was a Russian program at PSU in which there are small class sizes, tutors that work with students individually, and challenging content-based classes conducted in Russian!

What’s the best aspect of being in the PSU Russian Flagship?
The best aspect of Russian Flagship is the people in the program. I love getting to know my classmate, teachers, and tutors. I find that we all create a tight-knit group, which in turn makes for a supportive environment in the classroom and beyond. The professors and tutors do so much to help students increase their fluency and gain confidence in Russian!

Why is fluency in Russian important to you?
Russian is important for me because I’d like my career to involve using Russian every day. In translation and language analysis, one has to know the language and culture deeply enough to understand not only words, but context. Besides this, my husband is from Russia, so being able to speak fluently with him and his family in their native language is important to me.
