What do you plan to do with your fluency in Russian?

I would like to be the amplifier between Russian speaking individuals and non-Russian speaking individuals. Any work that involves interpreting for those that otherwise may not have a mode of communication between their native language and another’s.

What attracted you to the PSU Russian Flagship?

Success stories, current students, and my first/ second-year Russian teacher Kristine Shmakov.

What’s the best aspect of being in the PSU Russian Flagship?

Learning and speaking Russian – but, also, due to the small number of us, making friendships and the ability of our professors to be able to help us individually inside and outside of the classroom. Also, being in the Flagship gives us opportunities that may otherwise be unavailable to us, and we are given a greater connection to the Russian community.

Why is fluency in Russian important to you?

Being able to speak on an even level with a native Russian speaker, and about almost any topic will add tools that I will need in future professional goals.
